    About The Average Joe

The Average Joe is a newsletter-first financial media company that covers investment news, trends and analysis. Our mission is to make investing simple and accessible to everyone with differentiated investment content that’s concise, simple and informative.

    Job Description

Our free 4x-weekly newsletter reaches 30,000+ investors and is on track to grow to 100,000+ in the next year. We’re launching a new investment product for our newsletter readers and we need an investment analyst to lead the product.

Our ideal candidate is someone who consumes financial statements on the daily, loves to hunt for opportunities where no one is looking and isn’t afraid to give their opinions. Only a true stock market junkie with strong writing skills will survive this position.

We want to provide a platform for you to spread your opinion to tens of thousands of investors — soon to be in the hundreds of thousands and eventually in the millions.

We need someone with a strong market pulse and can communicate complex topics in a clear and concise way.

    Responsibilities

    • You’ll be in charge of conducting investment research on U.S equities, making investment recommendations and preparing sector reviews.
    • Condense the information into two research reports (1,500-2,000 words each) per month with the assistance of our team.
    • The report will consist of investment recommendations, market commentary and sector reviews. Coverage will primarily be on equities and ETFs available to U.S. investors.
    • Stay on top of financial trends and news, and maintain a pro-active view on the market.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Strong analytic skills with a deep understanding of fundamental research and analysis.
    • Strong writing skills is a must and the ability to write in a clear and concise way.
    • BA/BS degree required; CFA or master’s degree related to economics or finance is a bonus.
    • Prior experience working in the investment management or asset management industry is preferred.

This is a part-time position and you will be able to work on your own schedule. However, you must meet two deadlines every single month.

This is a contract position and compensation will be based on experience with the potential for a revenue share.
